Stillpoint

Battersea · London

Room to breathe.

A small Battersea studio for unhurried yoga and mat pilates. Come as you are — no experience needed and no need to touch your toes. Just time to move, breathe, and put the week down for a while.

Classes

Nearly everything we teach is mixed-level and capped at fourteen people, so there’s room to actually be seen and adjusted. Mats, blocks, bolsters and blankets are all here — just bring yourself, and maybe a pair of grippy socks for pilates.

Flowing · warming

Vinyasa Flow

A breath-led flow that links one posture to the next. You’ll build strength and a steady rhythm, and most people work up a light sweat. Best once you’re comfortable with the basics and you want to move.

Slow · supported

Restorative

Slow and deeply propped. We settle into a handful of gentle shapes for several minutes each, held up by bolsters and blankets, and let the nervous system catch up. Nothing to achieve here — only to rest.

Core · control

Mat Pilates

Strength, posture and control, worked through small and precise movements on the mat. A good counterpart to a yoga practice, or a solid class in its own right. No equipment beyond a mat.

For beginners

Foundations

Our beginners’ class. A calm, step-by-step look at breathing, alignment and the postures you’ll meet most often. The right place to start if you’ve never been on a mat, or you’re coming back after a long time away.

Weekly schedule

Our term-time timetable. Classes run 60 minutes unless noted. Spaces are limited, so booking ahead is a good idea — some of the evening classes fill up quickly.

The teachers

A small team, which is rather the point. You’ll get to know everyone, and they’ll get to know how you move.

Mara Elliott

Founder & lead teacher

Mara started Stillpoint in 2016, after fifteen years in a job she was quietly relieved to leave. She trained in vinyasa and slow flow in Rishikesh and later in Lisbon, and teaches with patience, clear cues and a fairly dry sense of humour. Her classes are strong, but never rushed.

Priya Nair

Restorative & foundations

Priya came to yoga while recovering from a running injury and never quite left. She holds a 500-hour certification and a soft spot for restorative practice and breath work. If you’re nervous about starting, she’s the one to begin with.

Tom Hargreaves

Mat pilates

Tom teaches mat pilates and comes from a background in sports rehabilitation. He’s precise, encouraging and mildly obsessed with good posture. Expect to work a little, and to leave standing a touch taller than you came in.
